Venturing is a coed branch of Scouts BSA once known as "Explorers."Explorers still exists, but has a different twist-they focus on various Career specialties.  Venturing on the other hand is a combination of high adventure and service to others. Venturing is a youth led organization - the youth who make up the Crew set their own agenda as well as doing much of the planning for the outings they choose to go on.  Venturing, which includes Sea Scouts, is open to young adults who are 13 and have completed the 8th grade (or 14 years old)through their 21st birthday.
