Great trails and close to home - only about a half hour away. If you take the yellow loop, be prepared to cross a stream 4 or 5 times (shoes may get a little wet - the boys will LOVE IT!!)

Great 5 - 8 mile hikes on Appalachian Trail about 1 hour from GVFD.
Don't forget water, a snack and sunblock on any hike
You can use an app like "map my walk" if you have GPS on your phone to track how far a walk is. The kids enjoy seeing where they have been and how long it took.
