Troop 85 SummerCamp 2017
Hello Scout Families,
Summer Camp is the event wherescouts are able to camp outdoors, learn new scout skills, earn multiplemerit badges and advancements, and have fun doing it.
The Trip is to Hawk Mountain, northof Reading, from Sunday July 9th to Saturday the 15th, we will be cominghome on Saturday the 15th before noon, with coordinatedparent/leader pick-up before 9:00 am. Parents are responsible for the pickup, or coordinating home delivery of their son.
Scouts must sign up for the completeweek, no partial week. There is swimming,(yes, the polar bearswim every morning) boating, archery, rifle range, hiking, and all of themerit badge offerings listed in the merit badge pre-requisites file, eventhe mess hall is fun.
I've included afew files to be read and filled out, the first step is to fill out thesign-up form and return it by February 15th with adeposit. All final payments need to be paid by May 5th,otherwise you may lose the $25 discount, (Early payment discount).
There are medical forms which needto be filled out every year. Adults attending will also need the newforms,(class 3) yearly.
We will belooking for Leaders and parents to stay at camp either the full week, orhalf week, this is offered first to leaders, and is subject to the campsrequirements. We also need drivers.
There is no fee for adults to stay,(dependent on number of scouts), but there are fees for extras likephotos, Bar BQ dinner, etc
We will be working on your scoutsaccount balance after we receive a confirmation and your deposit, theywill have funds they earned applied toward camp if they participated invarious fund raisers during the year.

please return to us the following, atleast 2 weeks before departure:
1. The health form 680.001 (for tripsover 72 hours) we will need (2) copies, one for us, one for camp
2. Over the Counter MedicationForm
3. Food Allergy Form
The boys will have a schedule ofavailable Merit Badges for 2017 which we will review with themsoon.
When your scout has determined hischoices of merit badges, please refer to the pre-requisite list and meritbadge.org, http://www.meritbadge.org/wiki/index.php/Merit_Badgesto determine what work he needs to complete before camp, we also havemerit badge books in our library for that use.
