Come See What Scouting is all About!

Why Cub Scouting?

Cub Scouting’s strength is that it is a well-rounded program, positively affecting every area of a boy’s life.

Cub Scouting encourages boys to achieve a deeper appreciation of others, including peers, parents, and other adults.  Early in their Scouting experience, boys learn the value of serving others.

Cub Scouting provides boys with a sense that they are important as individuals.  They learn that their Scouting Family cares what happens to them.

Cub Scouting promotes activities that lead to personal responsibility and high self-esteem.

Cub Scouting teaches your son…

            Confidence through recognition by adults

A sense of belonging by building relationships with other boys

To enjoy quality family time and to strengthen the parent/child bond

Social skills through interacting with other people

To make moral and ethical choices by instilling essential values

Citizenship by becoming responsible community helpers

Cub Scouts get to…

Go to Day Camp and Overnight Camp at Camp Strang in Goshen

Build and race Pinewood Derby Cars

Play games, build muscles, meet new friends, earn awards and play sports!!

Welcome To Oxford / Seymour Pack 60 Website!

We are a small pack that meets monthly at Great Hill Methodist Church on Route 67 in Seymour or out at an event if one is planned.  The Pack meetings have a theme and Scouts and Parent volunteers prepare the content for these meetings.  Our dens meet bi-weekly at one of the Oxford Schools.  The Pack Committee meets monthly to plan and organize the pack meetings and outings so the scouts can get the most from our meetings.  All Scout Parents are encouraged to attend and share their thoughts and ideas.  Parents are not required or expected to attend committee meetings, but are encouraged to get at their own comfort level.  We try to plan interesting / educational activities such as Eagle Viewing, hikes, Trips to local Police and fire departments and larger events such as our Battleship Cove Sleepover and the annual Pine Wood Derby. See Photos Below.
